I am also writing a blog about how that is, you can find it here: http://fighterpilotfather.wordpress.com/

I like these memories. You should write more of them. Do you know the writer Joe Brainard? You can find more on him here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joe_Brainard He wrote these short books called "I remember", "I remember more", and "More I remember more". They are excellent. You don't have to read them in order to use them as inspiration though. The way they work is that they have all these short paragraphs beginning with the words "I remember". If you would like to try it, I can really recommend it. I think I will do so soon, and post what comes out of it on my blog. Example:

I remember how the skin on his hands felt when I was a child. Dry but thick. They felt the same way when I held them at the hospital. Not like sandpaper, but thinking of them makes me think of sandpaper.

I remember how he cried when he got his electrical wheelchair. It was difficult for him that he had reached that point and could not go back.

And so forth. I just wrote the above, but will use them again later, when I take the time to write it. At the moment I should be doing something else, but I just found your blog and thought I would say hi. Hope you have good people to talk to to get you through this. I will link to your blog from mine.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
